Obituary - Lynn G. "Tex" Pearson
July 31, 1912 ~ August 14, 1996

MASON CITY - Lynn "Tex" Pearson, 84, of 919 N. Pennsylvania Ave., died Wednesday (Aug. 14, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East.

Private family graveside services will be held Saturday at Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood, with the Rev. Barb McCaulley of pastoral care at North Iowa Mercy Health Center officiating.

Following graveside services, friends of Tex and the family are invited to share memories with the family at the home of Ted and Lynne Wisman, 20722 Poplar Ave., after 1 p.m. Saturday.

There will be no visitation; the body was cremated.

Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., is in charge of arrangements.

Lynn Gillette "Tex" Pearson was born July 31, 1912, in Clear Lake, Minn., the son of Jesse James and Ada Marcelline (Gillette) Pearson. Tex married Louise Smith on June 4, 1938, in Northwood.

Tex served in the "Old Guard" which is now the National Guard from 1928-1939.

Tex and Louise operated a dry cleaning business in Charles City and Oelwein before returning to Mason City in 1956.

Tex and Louise operated the Around the Clock Dry Cleaning for many years until they retired in 1977.

During his senior years, Tex drove a city transit bus making many friends during that time. He could be frequently found at the Mason City Senior Citizens Center playing pool when he wasn't watching Cubs baseball.

Tex was an active member of the Mason City Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Pearson, of Mason City; one son, Frank Pearson and his wife, Nancy, of Mason City; three daughters, Lynne Wisman and her husband, Ted, of Mason City; Nancy Gunther, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and Marsha Bailey, of Richardson, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Beth Snyder, of Mason City; Rachel Pearson, of Mason City; John Wisman and his wife, Karen, of Bellevue, Wash.; Holly Mennen, of Mason City; Mary Wisman, of Bellevue, Wash.; Bobby Wisman, of Mason City; William Gunther and his wife, Rikke, of Aalborg, Denmark; Susan Wise and her husband, Jeff, of Plano, Texas; Richard Bailey, of Richardson, Texas, and Robert Bailey, of Richardson, Texas; four great-grandsons, Max and Jonathon Wisman, of Bellevue, Wash.; Nick Mennen, of Mason City, and Christian Gunther, of Aalborg, Denmark; a special sister-in-law, Jeanne Daniels, of Mason City; and a brother-in-law, Raleigh Smith, of Kensett.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Marvel Chute.
