Obituary - Ora "Orvetta" (Klotzbach) Payne
November 05, 1899 ~ June 02, 1978

Funeral services were held on Tues., June 6, 1978 for Orvetta Payne, who passed away June 2, at Habfax Hospital, Daytona Beach, Fla. She reached the age of 78 years, 6 months, and 27 days. Rev. Henry Knoploh officiated at services at Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona. Burial was in Giard Cemetery [Farmersburg, Iowa].

Ora Orvetta Klotzbach Payne, daughter of George and Zella Nichols Klotzbach, was born Nov. 5, 1899 in Giard Township.

She attended the elementary school of that area. After graduating from the Monona High School, she attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette, Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. She taught in the Froelich School.

She was united in marriage with George Payne on April 20, 1920. To this union was born one son, Gene.

Her parents preceded her in death. Left to mourn her death are her husband, George; her son, Gene, daughter-in-law, Katie; granddaughter, Peggy, grandson, Tom of Mason City, and her sister, Gladys Goodburne of Milwaukee, Wis.
