MASON CITY -- Myrtle G. Jacobs, 92, of the Willows, 1000 N. Eisenhower Ave., formerly of Clear Lake, died Monday (Sept. 30, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kermit Roisen officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason
City.

Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake. The family suggests memorials to Gideon's International in her memory.

Myrtle was born Jan. 12, 1904 in Clear Lake, the daughter of Albert and Louisa (Olson) Wistey. She attended Clear Lake schools and then graduated from Hamilton Business College in Mason City.

She married Edwin Jacobs on April 25, 1922, in Clear Lake. They moved to Klemme, where they owned and operated a hardware store.

In 1954 she moved to Clear Lake and continued to live there in the house she built until 1993 when she moved to the Willows. Myrtle enjoyed traveling, cooking meals for her family, especially
during the holidays, and playing bridge.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, and was a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star Park Chapter #35, Clear Lake.

Myrtle is survived by two sons, Elwyn Jacobs, Okkechobee, Fla., and Dean Jacobs and his wife, Bonnie, Mason City; one brother, Glenn Wistey and his wife, Bonnie, of West Des Moines; eight
grandchildren, Jocelyn Musolf, Roxanne Koepke, Robert Jacobs, Douglas Jacobs, Connie Thompson, Luann Roloff, Lori Ewoldt and Ray Schmidt; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1991; a daughter, Lois Schmidt of 1989; three brothers; and one infant sister.
