PLAN RITES FOR MRS. GEIST, 83
FUNERAL IS AT WILCOX CHAPEL MONDAY, 2 P.M.

CLEAR LAKE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Charles E. Geist, 83, who died at her home, 320 S. 2nd Street, Friday evening following a long illness, will be held at the Wilcox Funeral Chapel Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Doctor Edward W. Day, pastor of the Congregational Church, will conduct the rites and burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the home from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning.

Mary Louise Johnston was born near Joliet, Ill., March 4, 1865, daughter of George W. and Margaret Johnston, and moved with her parents to Chicago when 11 years old.

The family moved to the vicinity of Clear Lake in 1887 and Miss Johnston and Mr. Geist were married at the “old” Congregational Church Nov. 15, 1888. They lived on a farm west of Clear Lake until 1915 when they moved to the present home.

Mrs. Geist is survived by her husband. A niece, Miss Beatrice Grimshaw, and a nephew, Winton Grimshaw, have made their home with the Geists for the past several years.

Mrs. Geist was a member of the Congregational Church for more than 60 years. She was also active in local and state club work over a long period of time and was a member of Chapter EA, P.E.O.

NOTE – Mary Louise Geist was born March 4, 1865, died July 2, 1948 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section 1 Row 3.
