J.P. SORENSEN RITES SATURDAY

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for J.P. Sorensen, 83, 1100 2nd Ave. S. will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Ellingson officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. The Ward Funeral Home is in charge.

Jens Peter Sorensen was born April 20, 1878, at Garding, Denmark, to Hans and Christine Sorensen. He was married to Anna Hansen in 1901, and they came to Miller the following year. They lived north of Clear Lake until 1946, but he continued farming until 1953. He served one year as janitor of Zion Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one son and two brothers. Survivors are a son, Sam H., and a daughter, Mrs. J. (Amanda) Bisballe, Chicago; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

NOTE – Jens Peter Sorensen was born April 20, 1878, died December 7, 1961 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
