Obituary - George Loren Huber
September 07, 1916 ~ 2009

George Loren Huber was born on Sept. 7, 1916, in Aurora, Minn., the son of Francis X. and Katherine (Dotzler) Huber. He graduated from Buffalo High School, Buffalo, Minn.

George was united in marriage to E. Vivian Stenson in 1935. To this union four children were born. In 1939, George started his own business Huber Supply in Excelsior, Minn. In 1948, they moved to Mason City where they started Huber Supply; he retired in the late 1980s.

After E. Vivian died, George was united in marriage to Ellen M. "Toddie" Brunson, on Feb. 14, 1981, in Gilbert, where her brother, Father Paul Evans performed their service. They made their home in Mason City. After Toddie died, George was united in marriage to Marie Smedsrud on Aug. 18, 2007.

George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing bridge and cribbage. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, 4th Degree Knight of Columbus member serving a few times as Grand Knight, a member of the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge, where he was also was the Exalted Ruler.

George is survived by his wife Marie Huber, of Mason City; children, Loretta (Jim) Mathahs, of Mason City, Loren (Sandra) Huber, of Mason City, James (Lucille) Huber, of Hillman, Minn., Charles (Virginia) Huber, of Minneapolis, Minn.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Rick (Gini) Smedsrud, of Mason City and Rachel (Kevin) Busch, of Garden City, Minn.; siblings, Donald (Betty) Huber, of San Diego, Calif. and John (Pat) Huber, of Chaska, Minn.

George is preceded in death by his parents, wives, E. Vivian Huber, and Ellen M. Huber; and sisters, Katherine McGaffy and Jeanette Gorney.
