PLAN RITES FOR MRS. WINKLER
SERVICES AT WARD’S SATURDAY, 2 P.M.

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Mrs. Louis (Martha) Winkler, 75, 218 Wesley Drive, who died at a Mason City hospital early Thursday morning after an illness of two weeks, will be held at Ward’s Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mrs. Winkler was born in Danzig, Germany, March 13, 1876, daughter of Gustav and Amelia Romey, and came to Independence in July, 1885. After a few years the family moved to Omaha, Nebr., where she was married to Louis Winkler in 1898, and where he died in 1907. She came to Clear Lake in 1925 and became a seamstress. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist.

Mrs. Winkler is survived by her son, Jack Winkler, 10 N. 10th Street, two grandchildren, Mitzi and Robert Winkler, and a brother, John Romey, Caldwell, Idaho, besides several nieces.

Besides he husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ernest, who died in infancy, and a grandson, Jay, who died two years ago.

NOTE – Martha Winkler was born March 13, 1876, died December 6, 1951 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section B Row 7.
