MASONIC FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR AARON GRIMM
LARGE CROWD MOURNS DEATH OF PROMINENT COUNTY PROMOTERCLEAR LAKE, May 28 – An unusually large crowd gathered at the Masonic temple Sunday afternoon to pay last respects to Aaron N. Grimm, a Clear Lake retired farmer and for 16 years member of the board of supervisors, who played a prominent part in the growth of the community, county and northern Iowa.
E. K. Greene officiated at the Masonic funeral services which were carried out at the temple and the Clear Lake cemetery, while the entire lodge attended in a body. Scores of floral offerings were heaped about the hall as a tribute to Mr. Grimm.
Mrs. Oswald Whittemore of Sheffield sang several numbers “Leave It With Him,” and “Abide With Me” accompanied by Miss Katherine Davis.
Every available seat was taken in the temple for the services. Among the out of town persons who attended the rites were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bartmess of Walcott, Fred White, Iowa state engineer, Frank Mann, of the Iowa State Highway commission, both of Ames and G. W. Bartmess, Mason City. Elmer Bartmess is a brother of the late Mrs. Grimm who died Nov. 15, 1929 and G. W. Bartmess is a cousin of Mrs. Grimm.
