ESTHER WAY FUNERAL IS WEDNESDAY
SEPTEMBER 15, 1898 – DECEMBER 11, 1972CLEAR LAKE – Esther Way, 74, 810 Main Ave., died Sunday at a Clear Lake nursing home where she had been cared for about a week following seven weeks in a Mason City hospital.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Worthie K. Usher officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home.
Esther M. Way was born Sept. 15, 1898, at Emery, the daughter of Floyd and Samantha (Bugher) Way. She was graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1918 and clerked several years at the Oluf T. Hansen Co. She was employed as bookkeeper at Saucke Hardware eight years until retirement in 1968
Miss Way is survived by a sister, Rena E. Way, with whom she lived; a brother, George D. Way, Mason City; a niece and a nephew. She was preceded in death by a brother in 1911.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Wesleyan Service Guild and taught Sunday school many years.
Pallbearers selected include Glenn Franks, Graham Lawyer, E. J. Lincicum, G. E. Punke, Keith Neal and Burt Dowden. Mrs. Harry Mason will be the organist; Mrs. Don Kacer, the vocalist; and Harold Miller, usher.
