C. HARMS, 78, DIES AT HOME
AGED FARMER OF MT. VERNON TOWNSHIP IS SURVIVED BY WIDOW

CLEAR LAKE – Charles Harms, 78, died at his farm home in Mt. Vernon township Monday evening following an illness of several weeks and a longer period of failing health.

Mr. Harms had lived upon the family homestead almost all his life with the exception of a few years spent in Mason City. Several years ago he suffered the loss of one entire hand and most of the other in a corn sheller accident but even this did not curb his natural activity and he still managed to accomplish a large amount of farm work.

Besides his widow, Mr. Harms is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Archie Miller, Mason City, and son, Lyle, at home and several grandchildren. Francis Latham, Clear Lake, is a nephew.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending messages from relatives living at a distance. The body is at Williams funeral home.

NOTE – Mr. Harms was born 1867 and died Mar. 25, 1940 and is buried in Mt. Vernon Township Cemetery.
