HUBER, ANDERSON, AMUNDSON, JOHANNESSEN

Mrs. Mandella Olive Huber, 85, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, May 18, 1997, at
the IOOF Home, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran
Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess officiating. Interment will be in
the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May
21, from 5-8 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. The
family suggests memorials to the Mandella O. Huber Memorial Fund.

Mandella was born Oct. 15, 1911 in Radcliffe, Iowa, the daughter of John and
Ida (Anderson) Amundson. She moved with her family to Clear Lake in 1923.
Mandella graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1929.

Mandella worked for several years for the Clear Lake Telephone Company as a
switchboard operator. She married Paul Johannessen in 1934 and he preceded her
in death in 1945. She married Albert Huber in 1947.

Mandella enjoyed raising flowers, gardening, playing cards, ballroom dancing,
was noted for her great cooking, making pies as she operated the restaurant in
the sale barn in Clear Lake. She especially enjoyed being around her family.

Mandella was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake; Rebekah Lodge 105
and Do Your Bit Club.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Johannessen and his wife, Bonnie, Park
Rapids, Minn., Allen Johannessen, and his wife, Janet, Montrose, Colo., and
Eugene Huber and his wife, Nancy, Clear Lake; 15 grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two sisters; and six
brothers.
