Theodore "Ted" Saucke, 87, passed away Sunday, March 7, at Heritage Care Center,
Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services were held Monday, March 15, at Zion Lutheran
Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess officiating. A graveside remembrance
service was held at the Gowrie Cemetery, Gowrie, Iowa.

Theodore Henry Saucke was born Sept. 14, 1916, the son of Marie Schnormeier
Saucke and Henry Saucke. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and
was a graduate of American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ted married Beatrice Hanson on June 28, 1942 at Zion Lutheran Church, Gowrie. He
was in the retail hardware business in Clear Lake for many years, and built
numerous residences in the Clear Lake area, and also travel trailers in Elkhart,
Ind. He took pride in providing years of fireworks entertainment for Clear
Lake's July 4 celebrations and other local activities. Along with his wife, Bea,
he enjoyed his hobbies of riding motor scooters, riding Harleys and flying
their Cessna.

His surviving family includes his wife, Bea; daughters, Linda (Tom) Sage of
Mason City, Lois (Serge) Saucke-Lacelle of Montreal/Sherbrook, Quebec, and
Rhonda Saucke of Clear Lake. His grandchildren are Renay (Tom) Nestvedt, Mason
City, Matt (Jessy) Sage, Chicago, Ill. and Erin, Amy and Eric Saucke- Lacelle,
all of Montreal/Sherbrook, Quebec. Tyler and Justis Nestvedt, Mason City, are
his great-grandchildren.

Also left to mourn his passing are his five sisters, LaVern Urelius,
Farnhamville, Iowa, Aneta Nelson, Greenfield, Iowa, Cletis Nutting, Mesa, Az.
Inez Estlund, Atlanta, Ga. and Imogene Rohovit, St. Paul, Minn. and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Evelyn, and brothers, Omar and
Orlan.

The family requests memorials may be given to the Theodore Saucke Memorial Fund.
