Randal "Randy" Scott Coyier, 41, of 302 2nd St. N.E., Mason City, Iowa died
Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City,
Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 11, at Zion Lutheran
Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess and Lay Assistant Dick Scott
officiating. Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be
Wednesday, 5-7 p.m., at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake and then
one hour before the service on Thursday at the church. Family suggests memorials
to the Randy Coyier Memorial Fund.

Randy was born July 21, 1962 in Mason City, the son of James and Valera (Rooks)
Coyier.

Randy began his special education in Mason City and then moved to Comprehensive
Systems in Charles City. He later moved to Opportunity Village in Clear Lake and
has spent the last seven years, due to his health, in Good Shepherd Health Care,
Mason City

He enjoyed listening to country music, especially Kenny Rogers, collecting caps,
Smurfs and watching sports with his father. On Sunday mornings he enjoyed
watching the "Sunday Morning Show" with Charles Kuralt. He enjoyed being around
small children and animals. Over the years he enjoyed participating in Special
Olympics and winning medals.

Randy will be sadly missed by his father, James Coyier and his wife, Phyllis,
Albertville, Minn.; his mother, Valera (Val) Hovelson and her husband, James,
Clear Lake; his sister, Dawn Brosdahl and her husband, Jody, Thornton, Iowa;
step-sisters, Lisa Nelson and her husband, Neal, Belmond, Iowa, Ann Brown and
her husband, Chris, Dahlonega, Ga. and Lisa Wilson and her husband, Scott,
Alexandria, Minn.; two step-brothers, Sean Oudekerk and his wife, Karen,
Zimmerman, Minn. and Tony Oudekerk, Burnsville, Minn.; two nephews, Tad and
Trent Brosdahl; his godmother, Marjorie Toft, Savage, Minn. and godparents, Gary
and JoAnn Hughes, Peoria, Az.; two step-grandmothers, Lorraine (Rooks) Woiwod,
Clear Lake, and Vida Hovelson, Clear Lake, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins
and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wesley and Evelyn Coyier;
maternal grandfather, Raymond Rooks; aunt, Ramona Calhoun; two cousins, Shelley
and Gary and godfather, David Toft.
