Genevieve E. Grandon, 98, 113 East Walnut, Manly, Iowa, formerly of Clear Lake,
died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at her home. A funeral service was held Saturday,
May 15, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with Msgr. Robert Hogan
officiating. Interment was at the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake. Memorials may
be given to the Genevieve Grandon Memorial Fund.

Genevieve was born March 6, 1906 in Barnsville, Minn., the daughter of Hugo and
Nona (Fitzgerald) Fex. She attended and graduated from Sacred Heart High School
in Pocahantas, Iowa. Genevieve married Charles Grandon on Jan. 31, 1928 at the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Laurens, Iowa. They were the first couple to be
married in that parish. They lived in Laurens, until moving to Clear Lake in
July 1946.

Due to her health, Genevieve moved to Manly to live with her granddaughter,
Jill. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake.

Genevieve is survived by her two sons, Charles Romaine "Granny" Grandon, Manly,
and Michael Grandon and his wife, Mary, Clear Lake; six grandchildren,
Christopher "Kit" Grandon, Manly, Jill Houston, Manly, Brenda Beernink and her
husband, Mark, Rock Valley, Iowa, Valerie Glaser and her significant other,
David Warhol, Prior Lake, Minn., Lynae Hershey and her husband, Dan, Prior
Lake, and Mike Glaser and his wife, Allyson, West Des Moines, Iowa; 11
great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles, May 1992;
two sisters, Martha Lichter and Alice Harlan; three brothers, Louis, Hugo and
Joseph Fex.
