Russell A. Pals, 76, of 2 South 19th St., Clear Lake, Iowa died Tuesday April
24, 2001 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 26, 2001, 1 p.m. at United Methodist
Church, Clear Lake, Iowa with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.

Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, Iowa. Visitation will
be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake,
and one hour before the service on Thursday at the church. Family suggest
memorials to Russell A. Pals memorial fund.

Russell was born Nov. 8, 1924 in Meservey, Iowa the son of Charles K. and Kate
(Barkema) Pals. He attended school in Meservey. Russell married Mary McCarthy
Nov. 20, 1965 in Clear Lake.

Russell worked with his brother Stanley in Thornton, Iowa operating a corn
sheller and hauling livestock until 1969. He then worked for Beck Excavating in
Clear Lake and then worked for Yohnıs Ready Mix, Clear Lake for fifteen years
retiring in 1995 due to health. He enjoyed working on his cars.

Russell is survived by his wife Mary Pals, Clear Lake, Iowa; two children Sarah
Belsky and her husband Randy, Eau Claire, Wis. and Rustin Pals and his wife
Sandy, Mason City, Iowa; one sister, Marcele Kottman, Thornton, Iowa;
sister-in-law Berniece Pals, Thornton, Iowa and Minnie Pals, Belmond, Iowa and
several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two
brothers Stanley and Raymond Pals; and three sisters, Tena Hillmann, Ruth
Syverson and Margaret Hake.
