Louis G. Hepperly, 87, 624 18th St. W., Clear Lake, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003
at his farm north of Ventura, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, April
5, at the Ventura United Methodist Church, with Pastor Audrey Westendorf-Young
officiating. Interment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be
given to the Louis G. Hepperly Memorial Fund.

Louis was born Oct. 16, 1915, southwest of Britt, Iowa, to George and Mary
(Yarke) Hepperly. He was baptized at the United Methodist Church, Britt. Louis
attended country schools and worked on various farms. On April 21, 1934, he was
united in marriage to Eleanor Wright at Mason City, Iowa. They were married for
68 years. They rented a farm north of Britt for six years. They purchased a farm
north of Ventura where he farmed until retiring. They then moved to Clear Lake.

Farming was his pride and joy. He also liked gardening and yard work, and was
always ready to help anyone. He loved his children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Ventura United Methodist Church.

Louis is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Hepperly, Clear Lake; one
daughter, Marilyn Severson and her husband, Don, Joice, Iowa; one son, Jerry
Hepperly and his wife, Nina, Fertile, Iowa; six grandchildren, Linda Rae
Severson, Larry Severson and his wife, Linda, Julie Rasmussen and her husband,
John, Scott Hepperly and his wife, Robin, Todd Hepperly and his wife, Julie, and
Jon Hepperly; 10 great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Marcus Severson, Brittany,
Jenna and Tyler Rasmussen, Nicole, Joe and Ashley Hepperly and Justine and Megan
Hepperly; one sister, Lola Mattoon, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and many
friends and neighbors.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Hepperly, two
sisters, Stella Clark and Marietta Cockrell and two brothers, Ernest and Lyle.
