Mary Louis Borschel, 82, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Sept. 22, 1995 at
the Good Shepherd Care Center in Mason City.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at the Ward-Van
Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North 4th Street, Clear Lake with the Reverend
Fred Lewis of the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake officiating. Burial
was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

The family of Mary Louis Borschel has requested that memorial
contributions be made to the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake or to the
Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City in her memory.

Mary Louis Borschel was born Oct. 5, 1912 in Des Moines, the daughter of
Louis Delbert Lynxwiler and Ethel (nee) Hunsinger Lynxwiler. The family moved
to Cedar Rapids and she attended and received her education in the Cedar
Rapids school system, graduating from Cedar Rapids High School in 1930.

She was united in marriage to Ardell Edward Borschel on April 22, 1930, in
Oklahoma City, Okla. He preceded her in death in January of 1977. In 1957,
they moved to Clear Lake where she worked for several years at the Grethen
House in Clear Lake.

She enjoyed reading, golfing, watching golf on TV., feeding birds and
squirrels, but her great love and enjoyment was her family and grandchildren.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake.

Survivors include a daughter, Sally Lou Christeson and her husband Mearle
of Osage; three grandchildren, Lisa Spencer and her husband Stan of Nora
Springs, Bradley Christeson and his wife Liz of Indianapolis, Ind.; and Kevin
Holden of Bettendorf, Iowa; three great grandchildren, Steve and Sarah Malone
of Nora Springs, and Bradley Christeson, Jr., of Indianapolis; and one sister,
Dawn Bennett and her husband Don of Springfield, Mo.; as well as
other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and one
brother, Tom Lynxwiler.
