Elma Ball, 68, Dies Following Long Illness – Ventura – Elma Ball, 68, Ventura, died early Tuesday evening at the farm home of her daughter, Mrs. Raymond Rooks, south of Clear Lake following an illness of several months. Funeral services are incomplete at the Ward Funeral Home.

Elma E. Ball was born May 31, 1895 in Wright county, the daughter of Carl and Katie (Meyer) Harris. She lived in Wright county until May 11, 1919 when she married John W. Ball at Bethany, Mo. They moved to Livermore for two years and later to a farm south of Ventura – Clear Lake where she farmed until 1952 then moved to Ventura. She had been in a Clear Lake Nursing Home for two months till she moved to her daughter’s home two weeks ago.

She is survived by one son, John W. Ball, Lincoln, Neb., three daughters, Mrs. Jake (Bernice) Nannenga, and Mrs. Raymond (Betty) Rooks, both of Clear Lake; Mrs. Gail (Eunice) Olthoff, Lakota; 5 brothers, John Harris, Ortho; Ernest Harris and Albia Harris, both of Dows; Clifford Harris, Alde; Sidney, Belmond; one sister, Mrs. Alvin Gardalen, Alden, and 12 grandchildren.

Note – Elma Ball died 1964 and is buried in the Ventura Cemetery.
