Helen Anna Davis, 88, of Clear Lake, died Monday, Sept. 4, 1995 at the
I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 7, at the United Methodist
Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial services were
held Thursday, Sept. 7, at the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, with the
Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. The
family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Church.

Helen was born May 20, 1907, near Eureka, Ill., the daughter of Edward
Renz and Anna Renz (nee) Hamilton. The family moved to Pierre, S.D., for three
years, then traveled to Clear Lake. She received her education in Clear Lake,
graduating in 1925. She then attended college in Boulder, Colo., studying home
economics.

On July 14, 1929 she married Clair Davis in Clear Lake. The couple lived
in Mason City for a short time, where Clair was a member of the police force.
She helped Clair to operate a peanut vending machine business over a 50-mile
radius for several years before starting a family. Helen was co-owner of the
Tot-To-Teen Shop in Clear Lake from 1951-56 with Francis Miller.

Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake and helped
with the Sunday School programs there for 43 years. She was also a member of
the Sorosis Club.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Davis, Clear Lake; a daughter, Judy
Lincicum and her husband, Clayton, Clear Lake; six grandchildren, Dawn Ann
Theilen and her husband, Tim, Clear Lake, Dan Lincicum, Clear Lake, Daren
Lincicum of Fertile, Iowa, Wendy Lincicum of Des Moines, Iowa, Dawn Marie
Chadrick of Clear Lake, and Jennifer Davis of Des Moines; and five
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clair in 1979; a
sister, Thelma Ratkovich; two half-brothers, Vernon and Harold Richardson; and
one great-granddaughter, Abby Marie Theilen.
