Opal E. Coffin, 98, Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at the Oakwood Care
Center, Clear Lake. A graveside service was held Monday, Oct. 11, at the Clear
Lake Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating. Memorials may be given to
the charity of your choice.

Opal was born April 23, 1912 in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of John and Neva
(Homes) Purviance. She graduated from Clear Lake schools in 1930. Opal married
Cecil E. Coffin on Jan. 26, 1931 in Clear Lake. Cecil died Feb. 11, 1987 after
56 years of marriage. They lived in Shenandoah, Iowa for one year after they
got married. They farmed south of Mason City and Clear Lake from 1933 1949 and
then moved to Wichita, Kansas where she worked as a sheet metal assembler for
the Cessna Aircraft plant, retiring in 1974.

Opal was a member of the Golden Wedding Jubilee club, the Senior Citizens of
Fertile, Iowa and the Church of Christ, Fertile.

Opal is survived by her daughter, Norma Proctor, Iowa Falls, Iowa; four
grandchildren, Dale Moorehead, Sanger, Texas, Cecil Moorehead, Ventura, Karen
(Keeling) Reiter, Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Darlene (Keeling) Smith, Little Rock,
Ark; 11 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara
Ball, Prescott, Az. and brother-in-law, Warren Millard, Mason City.

Opal is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil; granddaughter, Arlene
Smith on March 10, 2008; five brothers, John Jr., Floyd, Earl, Jesse and Clyde
Purviance; and three sisters, Lola Stranquist, Irene Millard and Aileen
Petersen.
