Stanley Harry Lee was born May 24, 1932 to Harry and Laura (Lehman) Lee on the
farm in Thor, Iowa. He graduated from Humboldt High School in 1950. He then
proceeded to the Air Force, achieving the rank of Sergeant and serving from
1951-1956. He married Charlene Daniel on March 24, 1957 in Humboldt. He was
employed by Council Oak Store as a butcher in Humboldt. In 1958 they moved to
Lake City, Iowa where he managed a branch store for about two years. His college
journey began at Iowa Central Community College in Ft. Dodge and then Iowa City,

career as a chemical engineer with Northwestern Cement Company (Holcim) until

kids and have resided ever since.

Stan, to many known as "Stan the Man" was a die-hard Hawkeye and Vikings fan
and looked forward to attending games live or watching them on TV whenever
possible. He was the YMCA?s biggest fan in Mason City and truly felt like more
than a member; he felt like part of a family. He loved watching his children
and grandchildren participate in their activities. One of his favorite
activities he's known for is being a total jokester and prankster.

Stan's achievements included being a 1963 Honor Graduate from the University of
Iowa, earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and belonging to Tau
Beta Pi at the University of Iowa. He honed his skills for public speaking
during his membership of Toast Masters, and with the Fellow of the American

Engineer of the Year in 1981-1982 with the Iowa Engineering Society.
