Robert Raymond "Bob" Hanna, 87, of 2958 260th St., Ventura, Iowa died Sunday,
Nov. 27, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at Redeemer Lutheran
Church with the Rev. Daird Korth officiating. Interment will be in Clear Lake
Cemetery with military honors provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W. Visitation will
be Wednesday from 5 -7 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel and then one
hour before the service on Thursday at the church. Family suggests memorials to
Robert R. Hanna Memorial Fund.

Bob was born May 14, 1924 in Clear Lake, the son of Robert Merle and Mary
(Bitker) Hanna. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1941.
He enlisted into the United States Navy in September of 1942 and served as a
Boats Mate II during WWII and was discharged in 1946.

Bob married Phyllis D. Momyer on July 20, 1961 in Sioux Falls, S.D. They had
just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July. Bob worked for Marigold
Foods as a wholesale driver for over 42 years retiring in 1988. He was the
Marigold Clown for many years.

He enjoyed watching western movies, having coffee with his friends and
volunteering at the hospital.He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in
Mason City and after moving to Ventura they became members of Redeemer Lutheran
Church, Ventura. Bob was also a member of V.F.W.

Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hanna, Ventura; daughter, Kathryn L. Hanna,
Boulder, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Bernadette Eddy, Rockwell, Iowa; grandson,
Charles A. Hanna and his wife, Amy, Apple Valley, Minn.; great-granddaughter,
Zoe Hanna; sister-in-law, Marilyn Sayles, Austin, Minn.; brother-in-law, Ray
Momyer, Mason City, Iowa; special nieces, Rosemary Ward, Clear Lake and Sandy
King and her husband, Dion, Mason City; and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Hanna; three sisters,
Marian O’Connor, Elizabeth Bitker Olson and Lucille Van Horn and two brothers,
Carl Hanna and Harold Hanna.
