Lloyd C. Miller – Clear Lake – Lloyd C. Miller, 88, of 813 Sixth Place N., Clear Lake, died
Monday (Jan. 4, 1988) at a Mason City hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday at United Methodist Church, 508 Second Ave. N., Clear Lake, with the Rev.
James Louk, officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6
tonight at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, where there
will be an IOOF Lodge Service at 7:30 tonight. The family requests memorials be made
to the Lloyd C. Miller Memorial Fund.

He was born April 3, 1899 in Rockford to Royal and Ida (Whiteman) Miller. Mr. Miller
moved with his parents to a farm south of Clear Lake at an early age. He attended
Clear Lake High School and Hamilton Business College, Mason City. He married Ina
Edwards on Aug. 15, 1923, in Nashua. The couple farmed in the Clear Lake area until
1945. Then Mr. Miller worked as a yardman at Farmer’s Lumber Company, Clear Lake,
for 25 years. He retired in 1972. Mr. Miller was a member of United Methodist Church,
Clear Lake, and the IOOF Lodge, Clear Lake.

Survivors include his wife, Ina, Clear Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Heimendinger,
Osage, and Bonnie Miller, Clear Lake; three sons, LaVern, Clear Lake, Orville, Swaledale,
and Dwayne, Geneva; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren,
four sisters, Mrs. Eva Kimble, Mason City; Mrs. Art (Elsie) Bussa, Clear Lake; Mrs. Charles
(Myrtle) Lowe, Waterloo; and Mrs. Robert (Addie) Hanley, Superior, Wis.
