Marvin K. "Pete" Peterson, 74, of rural Clear Lake, Iowa died Thursday, Aug. 2,
2001 at his family farm after a lengthy illness.

Services were held Saturday, Aug.4, 10 a.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial
Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Thomas Healey, Chaplin of Hospice of North
Iowa officiating. Interment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery with Military Honors
by the Clear Lake VFW Post # 04868. Family suggest memorials to Marvin K.
Peterson Memorial Fund.

Marvin was born March 12, 1927 in Mason City, Iowa the son of Andrew and Inga
(Jorgenson) Peterson. He attended County School #8 and then Clear Lake schools
until he enlisted in the Navy. He served in the South Pacific in World War II
and in the Korean Conflict. After his discharge he worked for North Western
Portland Cement, Fredericksonšs Welding and then went into the trailer repair
service at Atlas Motor Homes, Lifetime Motor homes, Forester Trailers and Paulšs
Mobile Homes. In 1986, he opened North Iowa RV Repair at his family farm and
worked until he retired due to his health.

In 1946, he married Margaret Miller and to that marriage, five children were
born. In 1960 he married Jean Elliott. They enjoyed spending their winters
near Austin, Texas. Marvin is survived by his loving wife Jean; daughters
Margaret Dorenkamp of Hillsboro, Mo., Judy Smith and her husband, Ron, of
Titusville, Fla., Patty Buland and her husband, Mike, of Monument, Colo., and
Mary Lou Wyborny and her husband, Mick, of Mason City, Iowa. He is also
survived by his stepson, Steve Elliott, Clear Lake; stepdaughter, Karen
Elliott-Green, both of Clear Lake; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;
and one uncle, Holger Jorgenson, of Ventura, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Inga Peterson; and his son,
William Peterson.
