Clayton E. Lincicum, 72, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at his
home, surrounded by his family.

A memorial service and celebration of life for Clayton will be held
Saturday, Dec. 13, 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave.
North in Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dianna Hoover officiating. Inurnment will be
in the Clear Lake Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by members
of the Clear Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7
p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North 4th Street,
Clear Lake. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service time on
Saturday at the church.

According to Clayton’s wishes cremation has taken place.

Those wishing to give a memorial contribution may direct them to the United
Methodist Church in Clear Lake, or to Hospice of North Iowa in his memory.

Clayton E. Lincicum was born on Sept. 11, 1936, in Clear Lake, the son of
Edmund and Ruth (Ott) Lincicum. He attended Clear Lake Community School, and
graduated from Clear Lake High School. Clayton was inducted into the U.S.
Marine Corps. on Oct. 27, 1955 and served mostly overseas in Okinawa, and was
honorably discharged as a SGT. on Oct. 24, 1958. After his honorable discharge
Clayton attended Hamlin College in Minneapolis, Minn. for traffic control. He
was united in marriage to Judy Davis on May 26, 1962 at the Clear Lake United
Methodist Church. After their marriage they lived in Des Moines, Iowa for a
short period before moving back to Clear Lake. Clayton worked as a carpenter,
building homes in North Iowa and later driving various size vehicles delivering
all forms of commodities. Clayton also worked for the Clear Lake Water Plant,
but was drawn back outside, eventually retiring from picking up biohazardous
waste for GRP.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycles (he was a charter member
of the North Iowa Rode Riders Club), music, especially Blue Grass and attending
Blue Grass festivals, boating, helping others, singing in the church choir in
his earlier years, baking with his grandchildren in his later years, and going
to their school activities. Family was very important to Clayton and he loved
spending time with them. Clayton was also instrumental, along with his nephew
Randy, in developing the Oak Ridge Addition in Clear Lake.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake.

Those that are left to mourn and cherish his memory are his wife, Judy
Lincicum of Clear Lake; his children, Dawn (Tim) Theilen of Clear Lake, Dan
(Tara) Lincicum of Clear Lake, Daren (Michelle) Lincicum of Garner, Iowa and
Wendy Lincicum-Wolfe of Clear Lake; 12 grandchildren, Tony, Jessi, and Andy
Theilen, Daphne, David, Ali, and Nathan Lincicum, Jennifer Eller, Ashley and
Katie Lincicum, and Maggi and Ben Wolfe; his brother, Kenneth (Blanche) Lincicum
of Clear Lake, his brother-in-law, Jerry Davis of Clear Lake, as well as many
nieces and nephews and many extended family members and friends.

His parents; a granddaughter, Abbey Theilen; four siblings, Viola, Cecil,
Jeanne, and Leon, preceded Clayton in death.
