Margaret Minnie Mahaffey, 90, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 at Mercy
Hospital in Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22,
10:30 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Lay
Assistant Richard Scott officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at
Zion Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, St. Charles,
Minn. Family suggests memorials be made to Zion Lutheran Church Do Day Ladies
or Opportunity Village, Clear Lake.

Margaret Minnie Kopischke was born Oct. 29, 1914 in Alma City, Minn., the
daughter of August Carl and Minnie Johanna (Gerdts) Kopischke. She graduated
from Waseca High School in Waseca, Minn.
On Oct. 21, 1934 she was united in marriage to Jerome Charles Mahaffey at the
St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waseca, Minn. Together they owned and managed a
hatchery in St. Charles, Minn. for 25 years. Margaret moved to Clear Lake in
1976.

Margaret was very active in her church circle and with Do Day Ladies sewing
quilts which were sent to people in need around the world. She was an avid
gardener and cherished time with her family and many friends.

Margaret is survived by two sons, Ralph Mahaffey and his wife, Carolyn, of Clear
Lake and Gary Mahaffey, of Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren, Sherri Luick
and her husband, David, of Lakeville, Minn., Mark Mahaffey and his wife, Kim,
Clear Lake, Michael Mahaffey and his wife, Amy, Clear Lake, Shannon Howe and
her husband, Brett of Gibbon, Minn., 10 great-grandchildren, and her sister,
Minnie Hanson, of River Falls, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers; four
sisters, and one great-grandson.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
