Jeannine Ann Stork, 77, Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006 at
Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Dec. 16, at St. Patrick's Catholic
Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. John R. Tilp, officiating. Burial was private
in the Osage Community Cemetery, Osage, Iowa. The organist was Mary Ellen
Monson, with music led by Mary Stattleman and the St. Patrick's Choir. The
honorary bearers were Jason Stork, Ryan Stork, Jim Kavars, Mike Secory, Betty
Hoffman and Pam Secory. The casketbearers were Shane Stork, Michael Stork, Wes
Nelson, Max Stork, Sadie Nelson and Sandi Stork. The family suggest memorials
may be given in her name to donor's choice.
Jeannine was born March 23, 1929 in Mason City, the daughter of Maurice "Jim"
and Lauretta (Leibold) Henderson. She grew up in the home of her mother in Mason
City, and later in Clear Lake. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in
1947. On Aug. 28, 1948 Jeannine was united in marriage to Patrick Stork at St.
Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake. The couple made their home and raised
their family in Clear Lake. Following Pat's retirement in 1987, they moved to
Cherokee Village, Ark. and wintered in Palm Springs, Calif. They moved to Clear
Lake in November of 1997. Pat died Jan. 24, 1999.
Jeannine graduated with a BSE from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and did
graduate work in mathematics at Greeley, Colo. She taught elementary school at
Thornton grade school, Thornton, Iowa, St. Joseph School, Mason City and several
years at Roosevelt Elementary, Mason City until retiring in 1976. Jeannine was a
lay minister, RCIA director in Clear Lake and lay minister and RCIA director at
St. Michael's Church in Cherokee Village, Ark. She enjoyed dancing, bridge and
was an excellent seamstress with the help of her friend, Joanne Watkins.
Those who were privileged to share in her life; three sons, Jay (Melody) of
Athol, Idaho, Jon (Judy) of Rugby, N.D., and Kevin (Janet) of St. Augustine,
Fla.; a daughter, Shannon Nelson, of St. Paul, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, Jason
and Ryan Stork, Shane and Max Stork, Michael (Ginger) and Sandi Stork, Wes and
Sadie Nelson, Tricia (Todd) Wingo, Natalie (Darrin) Bardin and Elisabeth (Steve)
Castillo; three great-granddaughters, Emma Rose Stork, Morgan and Madison
Castillo; and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Sam Thomas Nelson; and her
parents.
