Marilyn A. Rosendahl, 76, of 701 N. Shore Dr., Clear Lake, died Sunday. Dec.
10, 2006 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.
A victory celebration of life service was held Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the
Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ventura, Iowa with the Rev. Daird Korth officiating.
Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Family suggests memorials
to Marilyn A. Rosendahl memorial fund.

Marilyn Arloene Olson was born at home in Forest City, Iowa on June 22, 1930 to
Orville and Pearl(Walton) Olson. She was baptized at three days of age. Marilyn
grew up on farms near Forest City, Clear Lake and Osage, Iowa. She graduated
from Clear Lake High School in 1947 and then attended Mason City Junior College.
In 1951 she received a diploma in nursing from Fairview Hospital School of
Nursing in Minneapolis, Minn. She later earned her BSN from the University of
Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa. Marilyn married Dorance "Buck" Rosendahl on Dec. 29,
1950 and after he was dischargeded from the service they farmed near Ventura where
they raised their four children.
Marilyn worked over 30 years as a registered nurse at both Park Hospital and
Mercy Medical Center before retiring in 1992. During retirement she represented
Cerro Gordo County for six years on the Elderbridge Board. Marilyn was a member
of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ventura. Marilyn enjoyed reading, sewing,
quilting, travel, golf, genealogy and entertaining her family and friends.
Dorance and Marilyn wintered many years in Orange Beach, Ala.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Dorance; children, David (Connie) Rosendahl
from Ventura, Lynne (Mary) Rosendahl, Clear Lake, Beth (Randy) Johnson, Clear
Lake and Jane Martin, Nashville, Tenn. She is also survived by her
grandchildren, Adam (Anna) Rosendahl of San Diego, Calif., Andrew (Joan)
Rosendahl of Corpus Christi, Texas, Angela Rosendahl of Jacksonville, Fla.,
Justin (Jennifer) Rosendahl of Shawnee, Mo., Kenneth Rosendahl of St. Louis,
Mo., Melissa and Ann Casey Martin of Nashville, and Bret McMahan of Maryville,
Tenn.; step-grandchildren Drs. Matthew and Cara Wegner of Fairbanks, Alaska and
Lisa (Joby) Brogden of Boone, Iowa; great-grandchildren Alexis, Aiden, Abigail
and Oliver Rosendahl and step great-grandchildren Ross Wegner and Kallie
Brogden; brother, Myron (Arlene) Olson of Marion, Iowa and sister Joyce (Dick)
Cooper, of Solon, Iowa; brother-in-law, Glen (Jean) Rosendahl, Salem, Va.;
sisters-in-law, LuElla Pitkin, Andrews, Texas, Phyllis Rosendahl, Mason City,
Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, William Oxley, and
brother, Dean, in childhood.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
