Steve Sheldon Clark, 90, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 1995, at
Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 7, at the United
Methodist Church in Clear Lake, with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial
was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
The family suggests memorials in his name.

Steve Sheldon was born March 20, 1905, in Clear Lake, the son of Thaddeus
Sheldon Clark and Jennie Hammond Clark. He attended Grant Township School and
later went to work for the Matt Olson Grocery Store in Clear Lake. His other
business experiences included starting a restaurant across from City Park in
Clear Lake and working for a Mason City cleaners.

On March 23, 1927 he married Myrna Erickson in Hampton, Iowa. The couple
moved to Gary, Ind., where they were in the restaurant and grocery business.
They moved to Clear Lake in 1947 and operated Clark's Sport and Hobby Shop. He
continued in the business until retirement in 1971.

His hobbies included skeet shooting and attending gun shows. He loved the
out-of doors, hunting, fishing and boating on Clear Lake. He was very fond of
his dog.

Steve was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church and a
lifelong member of the National Rifleman Association.

He is survived by his wife, Myrna, Clear Lake; and many nieces and
nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Clark; a sister,
Fern Richard; two step-brothers; and three step-sisters.
