Evelyn Blanche Grant

Evelyn Blanche Grant, 99, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, July 30, 1995, at
Heritage Care Center, Mason City.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial
Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kermit Roisen of Zion Lutheran Church,
officiating. Burial was in Allegheny County Memorial Park Cemetery, Allison
Park, Penn.

Evelyn Blanche Grant was born May 25, 1896 in Sewicley Heights, Penn., the
daughter of David Wallace and
Margaret Anne Wallace (nee) McCoy. She attended schools in Sewicley and
Commercial College in Pittsburgh, Penn., and then worked at Crucible Steel
Company for five years.

On June 23, 1920, she married James D. Grant. To this union one daughter,
Isobel was born. In 1949 the family moved to North Hills Area where she lived
until her husband passed away in 1957. In 1959, she moved to Beatrice, Neb.,
where she was active in the St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in the
Guild and Auxiliary of the Lutheran Hospital where she did volunteer work in
the geriatric ward and gift shop. She then moved to Clear Lake with her
daughter, Mrs. Don (Isobel) Boyer and cared for her until her death in 1976.
She loved music and flowers.

She is survived by several nieces and many close friends. She was preceded
in death by her parents; her husband; daughter; one grandson; four brothers;
and four sisters; and many nieces.
