BERNICE A. LANE
Bernice A. Lane, 97, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Aug. 12, 1994, at Oakwood Care
Center, Clear Lake.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial
Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Charles L. Williams of the First
Congregational Church, officiating.
Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Bernice A. Lane was born Aug. 25, 1897, the daughter of Grant Dutro and Alice
(nee) DeRoo Dutro. She married Roy T. Lane on July 18, 1914, in Clear Lake. He
preceded her in death on June 3, 1936.

Bernice moved from Brooklyn at the age of six to Clear Lake and she attended
Clear Lake schools. She worked as an operator at the Clear Lake Telephone
Company for many years. She was a cook for several different Clear Lake
restaurants. Bernice was a former member of the Navy Mothers.

Survivors include two sons, Ranse Lane and his wife, Katie, Clear Lake, and
James Lane and his wife, Jane, Mesa, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Don Lane; one
daughter, Marilyn Drew; three grandsons; and six sisters.

Pallbearers were Bill Lane, Roland Drew, Royce Ann Monson, Jim Lane, Leslie
Nolte, Jolene Thompson, Jim Drew.
