Oelwein Garage Man Died Early Saturday
Clear Lake - Committal services for Earl KNAPPEN, 70, who died at Oelwein Saturday morning following a stroke suffered about 2 weeks ago, were held in Clear Lake cemetery Wednesday morning. The Rev. Verne A. SPINDELL, pastor of the Congregational church, conducted the service. Ward's funeral home made the arrangements. Funeral services were held at Oelwein Tuesday evening.
Mr. KNAPPEN was born at Clear Lake, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry KNAPPEN, pioneer residents of the community. He was manager of a garage in Oelwein until he became ill.
Surviving are 2 sons, Ervin KNAPPEN, Oelwein, and Robert, who is in the service; a brother, Floyd KNAPPEN, Mitchell, S. Dak.; a sister, Mrs. Grace RAINES, Long Beach, Cal.; and 4 grandchildren. Mrs. KNAPPEN died in 1911.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd KNAPPEN arrived Tuesday evening and attended the committal service Wednesday.
