Funeral services for Grace Mary Peterson, 68, were held Wednesday at the Major Memorial Chapel. Dr. Paul A. Peterson, pastor of Wesley Methodist Chruch, officiated. Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery. She had been an invalid for several years. Mrs. Peterson died at a Mason City hospital on February 20, 1955.

Mrs. Peterson was born Grace Mary Birkbeck, daughter of Turner and Julia Birkbeck in Allison on June 24, 1886. She came to Mason City in 1904 and taught in rural schools here for five years. She was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church. She married John (Jack) Peterson.

Surviving are her husband, a son Ralph (Gertrude) Peterson, Mason City; a daughter Doris (William) Schyberg, Duluth, MN; a brother, J.R. Birkbeck, Mason City; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert, two sisters and a brother.
