MRS. LESTER, 74, DIES IN HOSPITAL

Resident Here for 45 Years Succumbs to Lingering Illness.

Mrs. Sarah L. LESTER, 74, who resided at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sidney BIRCH, 1832 North Federal avenue, died at a local hospital abut 5:15 o'clock Thursday morning following a lingering illness.

Mrs. LESTER was born at Rock Falls March 3, 1860. She came to Mason City 45 years ago.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed Thursday. The body was taken to the Randall funeral home.

Services Held for Mrs. J. C. Lester; Burial at Plymouth

Funeral services for Mrs. J. C. LESTER, 74, who died at a local hospital Thursday, were held at the Church of Christ Monday. The Rev. David L. KRATZ, pastor of the church, was in charge of the services. Burial was at Plymouth [Oakwood Cemetery].

Sarah Louise REDINGTON was born March 3, 1860, at Rock Falls, the daughter of William and Augusta REDINGTON. She was married March 12, 1878 to John C. LESTER at Plymouth. They resided at Plymouth and Rock Falls until 1888 when they moved to Mason City.

Surviving Mrs. LESTER are children, A. E. LESTER and Mrs. SIdney BIRCH, Mason City, Onie M. LESTER of Memphis, Tenn., Frank B. of St. Paul, Claud N. and Mrs. Daisy MANN of Canon City, Colo., her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Bertha LONEY and Mrs. Grace ROHWEDER preceded Mrs. LESTER in death. A sister, Mrs. Anna ORTMAN of Waterloo and one brother, George REDINGTON of Alberta, Can., and 29 grandchildren and 30 great-granchildren survive her.

Six grandsons, John and Albert LESTER, Cecil and Dale BIRCH, Lyle LESTER and Gus SEVERS, were pallbearers.
