John R. CLAUS, 42, Route 1, Plymouth, died Thursday morning in a Mason City hospital. He was named the outstanding young farmer of Cerro Gordo County in 1955.
A graduate of Plymouth High School, he attended Iowa State University, Ames, and began farming in 1942. He had been active in farm and community affairs.
He was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Dairy Herd Improvement Association and was on the board of directors of the Plymouth Famers Elevator. He is a past president of the county DHIA organization.
CLAUS was a 4-Her for seven years and was president of his club three years. He also was president of his FFA Chapter one year.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The Patterson-James Funeral Home is in charge.
NOTE: John was interred at Oakwood Cemetery, Plymouth, Iowa.
