R. D. Claus rites Saturday at Plymouth

MANLY - Richard D. CLAUS, 62, the postmaster at Plymouth, died Wednesday at a Mason City hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Plymouth Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles BIRCHMEIER will officiate. Burial will be in the Plymouth [Oakwood] Cemetery with Bride's Funeral Home, Manly, in charge.

Born Oct. 9, 1898, at Plymouth, he was the son of John and Jessie SIMONS CLAUS. He served in World War I and was married to Vida MOLSBERRY at Mason City, Sept. 9, 1920. They lived on a farm east of Plymouth before moving into town. He had been postmaster here since 1950. He served on the Plymouth school board 18 years and was a member of the Methodist Church and the Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife, two children, John, Plymouth; Mrs. Robert (Darlene) CORWIN, Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren, five sisters, Mrs. Rodney BABCOCK, Kansas City; Mrs. Eugene WHITEHEAD, Madison, Wis.; Mrs. Lloyd KOHL, North Hollywood, Calif.; Mrs. Erwin DAVIS, East Lansing, Mich.; Mrs. Richard ROBERTS, Cedar Rapids.
