Mrs. F. H. COTTON, 84, died at the home of Mrs. R. B. IRONS, 825 2nd S.W., at 12:30 p.m. Sunday [August 9, 1953], following a short illness. She had lived in Mason City 43 years.
Mrs. COTTON was born Bertha Alice PACKER, Oct. 16, 1868, at Ashland, Ohio. She spent her childhood in Ohio and moved with her family to North Dakota, where she attended the University of North Dakota.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John (Mickey) SENNEFF, Jr., Palo Alto, Calif.; Mrs. R. B. (Elizabeth) MARSHALL, Grose Point, Mich., and Mrs. Jack (Harriett) COLE, Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a brother, Howard PACKER, Hamilton, Mont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. COTTON, in 1921 in Mason City.
Mrs. COTTON was a member of St. John's Espicopal Church, Maria Mitchell Club, Browning Club and the Garden Club.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Alfred MALONE, rector, officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the McAuley and Son Chapel from Monday evening until 10 a.m. Thursday when the body will be taken to the church.
