LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Diane Lee DANEHY, born Nov. 18, 1946, in Mason City, Iowa, died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

Diane was pre-deceased by her parents, Leo F. DANEHY and Teresa M. DANEHY (nee Di MARCO) and an infant sister.

Diane is survived by sisters Patricia PORTER (Federal Way, Wash.), Mary Anne DANEHY (Canyon Country, Calif.), Justine PINA (Hanson, Mass.), Janine PARKER (Santa Monica, Calif.) and Julie JONES (Stevenson Ranch, Calif.), and brother, Thomas DANEHY (Tucson, Ariz.).

She was devoted to her many nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by Matthew, Andrew, Philip, Alexander, Darlene, Dennis, Donald, Deloriann, Shelayna, Taylor, Ashton, Nicholas, Dillon and their spouses and children.

Diane was a brilliant mathematician, an avid reader, a talented seamstress and in her youth she was a national level competitive softball player. She was a private person with little patience for people who acted without thinking. With Diane you always knew where you stood.

She will be remembered for her generosity and devotion to her family and friends, for her quick, sometimes ascerbic wit and for her love of the beautiful things of life - family, friends, good books, lovely arts and crafts, good food and a good laugh.
