ISABEL K. (RAUEN) ROTHAMEL –October 22, 1912 – June 14, 1999

MASON CITY - Isabel K. Rothamel, 86, of 36 S. Illinois Ave., died Monday (June 14, 1999) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center West.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., with the Rev. David Beckman officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with a Scripture wake service at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Isabel K. Rothamel Memorial Fund.

Isabel K. Rothamel was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Johnsburg, Minn., the daughter of Mathias and Emma (Steiger) Rauen. Isabel married Jacob A. Rothamel on Oct. 4, 1938 in Johnsburg, Minn.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Theresa Circle and the Rock Island Railroad Women's Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Jacob A. Rothamel, of Mason City; son, Roger Rothamel and his wife, Pat, of Windsor Heights, Iowa; one son-in-law, Richard Fox, of Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren, Eugene, Steven, Craig and Thomas; two stepgrandchildren, Andrew and Kristin; three sisters, Martha Schneider and her husband, Leo, of Adams, Minn.; Margaret Schneider and her husband, William, of Adams, Minn.; and Ardella Gilles and her husband, Reuben, of Austin, Minn.; one brother, John Rauen and his wife, Valera, of Stacyville; one sister-in-law, Rose Rauen, of Stacyville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cecilia Fox, on Jan. 6, 1997; parents; one sister, Bernetta Mullenbach; and one brother, Arthur Rauen.
