Obituary - LeRoy A. Bohl

MASON CITY -- LeRoy A. BOHL, 73, of 19865 Water St., died Friday (Dec. 13, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Kenneth HATLAND of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Following the service the body will be cremated.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and Monday until time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the LeRoy A. BOHL Memorial Fund.

LeRoy A. BOHL was born April 26, 1923 in Buffalo Center, the son of Andrew and Emma (CURTIS) BOHL. He graduated from Ventura High School, and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. Roy was discharged in 1945 and returned to Mason City to work for Mason City Tile and Marble, where he worked for 20 years. Roy worked for Payne Plumbing for 10 years, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, animals, birds and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Dorothy BOHL of Mason City; daughter, Sheila EDGAR and her husband, Gordon, of Muscatine; son, Dan BOHL and his wife, Carol, of Mason City; step-sons, Warren RUSSEFF, Bill RUSSEFF and his wife, Mary, and Wes RUSSEFF, all of Mason City; step-daughter, Wendy KINNAN and her husband, Larry, of Mason City; grandchildren, Abby, Brad and Maggie BOHL, Michelle WATERS, Matt and Erin EDGAR, Alyssa and Stacy RUSSEFF, Holly, Sarah and Ashley KINNAN, and Mariah, KAYDEN and Billy KNUTSON; great-grandson, Cain LUGAR; sisters, Bonnie BORCHARDT and her husband, Dale, of Rock Falls, Phyllis WEYDERT and her husband, Simon, of Rockwell, Rosalie PAULSON and her husband, Roger, of Rock Falls, and Karen EDGAR and her husband, William, of Colfax; one brother, Robert BOHL and his wife, Betty, of Rudd; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly SORENSEN; and brother, Randy BOHL.
