McDonough Rites Held At Mason City

Requiem high Mass was celebrated for Alice McDONOUGH, 86, widow of Michael McDONOUGH, at 9:30 A.M., Monday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City. The Rt. Rev. Msge. A. J. BREEN was celebrant. Mrs. McDONOUGH died Friday [February 11, 1966] in a Mason City Hospital.

The McDONOUGHS were former residents of Rockwell, farming in this area for many years before moving to Mason City.

Mrs. McDONOUGH was born February 26, 1879 at Dougherty, daughter of Charles and Ellen (KENNEDY) DOUGHERTY. She attended St. Patrick School at Dougherty, and was married to Michael McDONOUGH February 18, 1903, in St. Patrick Church, Dougherty.

Surviving are three sons, Daniel McDONOUGH, Salt Lake City, Utah; Clem McDONOUGH, Des Moines; and Robert McDONOUGH, Mason City; and two daughters, Mrs. James "Arlene" BARRAGY, Mason City; and Catherine McDONOUGH, Mason City; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A brother, Everett DOUGHERTY, Mason City, and four sisters, Agnes EALY, Mason City; Rose RIGGINS, Dougherty; Mrs. W. C. Lorentto BOYLE, Dougherty; and Mrs. Ralph J. "Lenore" HOGAN, Mason City, also survive. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by a son, a daughter and a sister.

Mrs. McDONOUGH was a member of Holy Family Church in Mason City.

Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery at Dougherty. The Hogan-McKee Colonial Funeral Home, Mason City, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
