Martha H. Paul

June 3, 1902 – March 7, 1985

Mason City, IA – Funeral services for Mrs. E.H. (Martha H.) Paul, 82, of 28 27th SW, will be 11 AM Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mason City.

She died Thursday, March 7, 1985, at a Mason City nursing home.

The Rev. Herbert L. Tegeler will officiate and burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Manly, IA.

Visitation will be after 1 PM Sunday at Patterson James Funeral Chapel, Mason City, where a Parish Scripture vigil will be held at 7:30 PM Sunday.

Mrs. Paul was the daughter of John and Katherine (Fitzl) Popp, born June 3, 1902 in Osage. She married Egbert H. Paul on January 28, 1920 at Manly. He died in 1970. She had worked as a cook and nurse aide at White Nursing Home.

A 50 year resident of Mason City, she was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mason City Eagles Lodge Auxiliary # 3416 and the Mason City VFW Auxiliary #733.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Fric, Mason City; Mrs. Clark (Loretta) Holthaus, Clarion, and Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Kalvig, Northwood; one son Egbert F., Canon, CO; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Josie) Stangler, Manly; Mrs. Perry (Annie) Weaverling, Osage; Mrs. Herschel (Bertha) Wofford, Phoenix, AZ, and Mrs. Edward (Katherine) Kollmann, Osage; four brothers, Edward, Rudolph and Walter Popp, all of Mason City, and David Popp of Wisconsin.
