Loren E. Weaverling

April 30, 1921 – December 5, 1986

Mason City, IA – Loren E. Weaverling, 65, of 32 13th St., NE died Friday, December 5, 1986 at a hospital in Phoenix, AZ.

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St., NE with the Rev. Frederick J. Wood officiating. Burial will be in Osage Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Osage VFW.

Visitation will be after 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Weaverling was born April 30, 1021 in Osage to Perry and Anna (Popp) Weaverling. He graduated from Osage High School in 1939 and served in the armed services in World War II.

In 1942, Mr. Weaverling moved to Mason City. He was employed in Mason City with the US Postal Service as a mail carrier.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, VFW of Osage, VFW of Mason City, served as past president of the Mason City Garden Club, and as past president of the Iowa Rose Society.

On October 18, 1942 he married Evelyn Runge in St. Ansgar.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, Mason City; his mother, Anna, Osage; a son, Larry, Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Betts, Osage; three brothers, Johnnie, Marold and Melvin, all of Osage, and two grandchildren.
