Anna Weaverling
July 31, 1900 – November 22, 1989
Osage, IA – Anna Weaverling, 89, of Osage, died Wednesday November 22, 1989 at Faith Home, Osage, of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, with the Rev. James S. Pittman of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Osage Cemetery. Visitation is after 2 PM today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Weaverling was born July 31, 1900, near Plymouth to John and Katherine (Fitzl) Popp. She later moved with her family to Mitchell County and attended rural schools in Worth and Mitchell counties. In January 1920, she married Perry E. Weaverling of Osage, where he owned and operated Weaverling Dray and Freight Service. He died in July 1965.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Hazel) Betts, Osage; three sons, John, Melvin, and Marold, all of Osage; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Katherine Kollmann, Osage; Josie Stangler, Manly, and Bertha Wofford, Mesa, AZ; and two brothers, Ed Popp, Mason City, and Dave Popp of Nekoosa, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, six brothers and two sisters.
