Obituary ~ Glenn Beck

CLEAR LAKE -- Glenn BECK, son of Eugene and Mary BECK, was born at Decatur, NE on June 7, 1895. He married Marian (sic, should be Marion) POTTER at Madison on November 22, 1916. She preceded him in death in 1975. He died at McKennan Hospital on Sunday morning [June 24, 1990] at the age of 95.

He grew up in the Winfred [South Dakota] area. He lived in Clear Lake since 1946 where he was manager for the Hamlin-Deuel Rural Electric Cooperative from 1946 until he retired in 1965.

He is survived by two sons, Dale of White Sulphur Springs, MT and Vernon of Madison SD; three daughters, Eleanor HEISMEYER of Estelline SD, Iris COOLEY of Seattle WA, Sharon ANDERSON of Yankton SD; 17 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde BECK of Winfred SD.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Virgil in 1967, and three brothers.

Services where held at the Winfred Congregational Church at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 1990, with the Rev. Ben ZIMMERMAN officiating.

Casketbearers were Allen BECK, Michael BECK, Kenneth BECK, Rod BECK, Randy BECK, Gerry HEISMEYER and Chad ANDERSON. Interment was made at Winfred Cemetery, Winfred, South Dakota.

Wieland Funeral Chapel [of Madison, South Dakota] was in charge of arrangements.
