Rites To Be On FridayFuneral services for William Bill JENSEN, age 76, will be held Friday, September 11th at 1:30 C.S.T. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thornton.
Rev. Russell P. JENSEN will be the pastor and burial will be at the Richland Cemetery. The boy will lie in state at the church from 12:00 until the time of service.
Military Rites will be held at the grave site by the Thornton American legion Anton Juhl Post No. 440 and Ward Funeral Home of Clear Lake will be in charge.
Mr. JENSEN passed away at the Clear Lake Nursing Home on September 8th [1964] after being released from the Vets Hospital in Des Moines.
OBITUARY
William M. JENSEN was born May 19th, 1888 on a farm near Thornton, son of Julius and Deena JENSEN. As a young man he attended a country school and farmed with his parents. He then operated a steam engine for a construction co. for quite some time. Bill JENSEN spent many years in Thornton and was well-known there.
He is survived by 1 brother, Hans JENSEN of Clear Lake and 4 sisters, Mrs. Lizzie BEAVER, Mrs. Ralph WARD, Mrs. Ole OLEON, all of Mason City, and Mrs. Elmer FANWELL of Hanlantown. He was preceeded in death by a brother and four sisters.
