Mrs. George Hulme Died at Clear Lake
Buried at Woden

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 22 at the Methodist church in Woden for Tena G. HULME, wife of the late George HULME. Rev. F. W. SHREVE and Rev. Elmer R. PETERSON were in charge of the services with Mrs. Richard BROWN as organist and Kathleen BETELS as soloist. Burial was at Bingham cemetery at Woden.

Tena G. HEIKENS, daughter of George and Ode HEIKENS, was born May 23, 1881 at Osterfreisland, Germany. In infancy she was received into baptism.

When one year of age she came with her parents to America and settled near Wellsburg, Iowa. Later the family moved to the vicinity of Woden where she attended school and grew to womanhood.

On February 23, 1905 she was united in marriage to George HULME. The couple established their home on a farm northeast of Woden. Blessing the home of Mr. and Mrs. HULME was 2 sons and one daughter, Thomas, Edward and Lavon.

Mrs. HULME with her family took active interest in the community life, and civic affairs, however her life centered with her family. The family were members of the Methodist Church and she was a member of the W.S.C.S.

The family circle was broken for the first time on November 28, 1938 when Mr. HULME passed away, and again on February 23, 1955 when the son, Thomas, lost his life in a plane accident.

For the past 2 1/2 years, Mrs. HULME had been in ill health, having fractured a hip, and since that time she has been confined to the hospital and her home. For the past 4 months, she has resided at the Lake Rest Home at Clear Lake. Early Friday morning [June 17, 1958], she quietly slept away at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 25 days.

Surviving Mrs. HULME is her children: Edward W. HULME, Woden; (Lavon) Mrs. Cecil E. STEWART, Omaha, Nebraska; two daughters-in-law, Doris and Sybil, the later residing at Bradshaw, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren as well as two sisters, Mrs. Anna WEAVER, Buffalo Center: Mrs. Sena BRANDT, Winnebago, Minnesota.

In addition to her parents, she was preceeded (sic) in death by one sister, Mrs. Tesia NEESEN, Wellsburg, Iowa; and one brother, Mr. Reen HEIKENS, Chisago (sic) City, Minnesota; and one granddaughter, in infancy.
