Obituary - Lula Ida (Mummelthei) Harms

Mrs. Lula Ida HARMS, 65, of 802 N. 8th St., Clear Lake, died April 29 [1981] in a Clear Lake nursing home.

She was born Nov. 27, 1915, in Bremer County, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Fredia MUMMELTHEI. She was married to Lorenz HARMS on Sept. 24, 1936 in Waverly. They moved to Clear Lake from the Waverly area in 1963.

Mrs. HARMS was a member of the Wa-Tan-Ye Club, Zion Lutheran Church and the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. She owned and operated the Gas-Lite Apartments. She was also active in the Single Parents.

Mrs. HARMS was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Survivors include her daughter Verlaine (Mrs. Don) THOMAS, Clear Lake; a brother, Lorenz MUMMELTHEI; and one granddaughter.

Services for Mrs. HARMS were held Saturday, May 2, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Keith tOMLINSON and the Rev. Tom DETTMER officiating. Soloist was Kenny STUMME, and organist was Louise FOLKMANN.

Pallbearers were Carl STEwAR, Ralph BONZER, Edgar BERGMANN, James A. OLESON, Wilbert BIEDERMAN and Fred BETTMER. Honorary pallbearers were Stanley BOCKHAUS, Ed SCHNEITER, Wally KELLER, F. W. KOHL, Eldo PLATTE and Fred ALBRECHT.

Interment was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Charles City. The Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
