OBITUARY - LEONORE "BABE" (DOUGHERTY) HOGAN

DOUGHERTY -- Leonore "Babe" HOGAN, 97, formerly of Dougherty and Mason City, died Wednesday (Jan. 1, 1992) at Twin Birch Healthcare Center, Spring Lake, Minn.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dougherty, with the Rev. Stephen MEYER officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Dougherty.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at St. Patrick's School, Dougherty, where a family rosary will be said at 4 p.m. followed by a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m.

Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapal, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. HOGAN was born April 11, 1894, at Dougherty, a daugher of Charles and Ellen (KENNEDY) DOUGHERTY. She married Ralph J. HOGAN on Nov. 26, 1918, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dougherty.

She resided at Dougherty, where her husband owned and operated the Dougherty Hardware Store and the HOGAN Funeral Home until 1950, when they moved to Mason City and began the present Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel.

For the past six years, Mrs. HOGAN has been a resident at Twin Birch Healthcare Center, Spring Lake, Minn.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic CHurch, Mason City, and the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Joan of Arc No. 152, Mason City.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Mary Rose) SCANLON, Minnetonka, Minn.; one son, Charles J. HOGAN, Scottsdale, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph in 1970; one daughter, Margaret McKEE; one son, Raymond HOGAN; one brother and five sisters.
