Services to Be on Tuesday Afternoon

Oscar D. BARTELL, 71 of 429 27th S.W. died at a local hospiTal Saturday evening [April 22, 1950], following an illness. He had resided in Mason City 40 years.

Mr. BARTELL was born Jan. 20, 1879, in Richland county, Wis. [son of Daniel Calvin & Hellen (HUGHBANKS)].

Surviving are 4 sons, Robert, Delos, Gale and Lyle BARTELL, all of Mason City, and 2 daughters, Mrs. Virginia MAYO and Mrs. Beulah FADER, also of Mason City, and 13 grandchildren.

A sister, Mrs. Annie GATES, Waterloo, and 4 brothers, Jess BARTELL, Van Hook, N. Dak., Pearl and Gus BARTELL, Grand Rapids, Minn., and Chelse BARTELL, Waterloo [also survive].

Mr. BARTELL was preceded in death by his wife [Alice Bertha (FOSTER) BARTELL (1884-1947)], a son [Arlie Lowell in 1937] and a brother [Dallas Virgil in 1938].

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Patterson-James chapel with the Rev. R. L. WILLIAMS, pastor of the First Christian church officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park cemetery. The Patterson-James funeral home in charge.
